Do you want to look like Ira?

Where the Wild Things Are X Opening Ceremony

I saw parts of this collection a couple weeks ago but i just recently saw the entire collection. Its absolutely incredible. The collection is inspired by the film/book Where the Wild Things Are and was a collaboration with Spike Jonze. Each outfit from the collection is inspired by a character from Where the Wild Things Are.

I personally think the collection is genius. It is a breath of fresh air. I love how all of the fur is faux. Faux fur, when done well, can give the exact same effect as real fur. Also the structure of the garments are just gorgeous. I love abnormal shapes that are harder to find at your average store.

The skirt below is my favorite piece. The structure and the color of the faux fur is just perfection.

How do you guys feel about this collection? Do you think it is over done or do you think it is a breath of fresh air? Also, how do you feel about Opening Ceremony prices?
I think that the prices are a little bit to much when it comes to collections that were made for Opening Ceremony, such as Chloe Sevigny and Jeremy Scott.

P.S. Ill be posting a personal guide to New York City next week so remember to follow so you will know when the guide is up.

I loved the Ira skirt, too. The prices are pushing it for faux fur, though. I'm going to try it on, though, when I'm in NY next week to see if the fit gives justification to the price tag.

It's a fun collection-i like it and i'm on the breath of fresh air side of the fence. Wouldn't mind a faux furry dress or skirt but only if the wild thing comes with it for the price :)

I think it's a reaallyy baaad idea. But that's only my opinion ^^" I don't want to look like Ira. I'm a fan of PETA, sorry. ^^" I don't like natural or not. I don't know why. ^^"

`I tottaly see where your coming from`- it was in positive or negative sense, because I don't know? XD
My comment wasn't negative. It was only my opinion, what I wrote. I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat meat. I eat vegetables, fruits , cakes, I eat also eggs, but I know it is bad. Furs are beautiful, but when I'm thinkink about these poor animals... I feel sad and I wanna to cry... I don't know why.... I'm really emotional.
btw. your blog is really interesting, this is it!

I like the collection! I think fur (and faux) has become a trend that got too popular too fast, and now it's becoming overdone. But I really like this collection and the wild things are soo cute! :D

i love this collection - you're right, oc prices are a bit steep, but i don't really care - i found a perfect faux-fur jacket (very wtwta for oc!) for dirt cheap at a rummage sale, so i don't care one bit about their overpriced fluffies, gorgeous though they may be! thanks a lot for your comment, by the way. you've got a lovely blog :)

Oh, I love the drapey coat 3rd from the bottom! Absolutely gorgeous! I am working on a similarly furry getup for my Halloween costume. A little fuzziness to the touch is never a bad thing!

Those are incredible! The costuming was one of my favorite aspects of the movie (second only to the set design), and I really love how OC has interpreted it here.

Great post!
I really don't understand why people bother with real fur anymore. :(

i actually love the fact that designers are shying away from leather and structured looks for the softness that is fur/faux fur - they are really pushing the boundaries with cuts and fabrics ...

great post!
